Kamal Kumaar Rao is a celebrated photographer and visionary art director known for his extraordinary eye for detail and profound sense of visual storytelling. Based between London, Mumbai, and Delhi, Kamal has established himself as a powerful creative force, one whose imagery fuses art, emotion, and design precision in a way that transcends trends.

As the Co-Founder of Pure Street Photography® (PSP), Kamal forms the creative backbone of one of the world’s most influential photography platforms. He shapes PSP’s visual identity, curates its global exhibitions, and ensures that every image showcased reflects artistic excellence and integrity. Under his direction, PSP has grown into a worldwide movement with over 350,000 followers and members from more than 39 countries, an evolving archive of human life, light, and emotion.

Kamal is also the Art Director at Light Wanderers working alongside creative director Dimpy Bhalotia, a creative agency and production house with offices in Mumbai and London. He leads high-impact campaigns and visual projects for global brands including Apple, Penguin Random House UK, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Oppo, blending luxury aesthetics with authentic human storytelling. His work has been featured in AP Magazine, PetaPixel, Colossal, Bored Panda, and Mid-Day, among other international publications.

Kamal is on the judging panel for many international photography awards, helping identify and uplift emerging talents around the world.

Trained and mentored by the award-winning photographer Dimpy Bhalotia, Kamal has developed an artistic approach rooted in intuition, patience, and a deep sensitivity to light and form. Together, they conduct special photography workshop camps for underprivileged children in collaboration with the Sakshat Foundation NGO in India, nurturing creativity and access to the arts among young minds.
