We would love to know more about you! Who you are and where you're from? When did you start street photography?

Hello, I am pleased to introduce myself. My name is C.S. Gennaro and I am from Italy. I seriously started with street photography in 2023.

What inspired you to become a street photographer?

Actually, the street itself. . . I found the world, and especially the people in the real world, more exciting than any model in the photo studio. . .

How would you describe your work in terms of style and/or approach?

I photograph what I see and feel right in the moment, and leave it to others to describe it.

What is your photography routine like? Do you photograph every day?

I'm trying ... last year I really managed to take some time to photograph daily.

What camera or mobile device do you use for photography? Do you shoot digitally, on film, or a mix of both?

I would very much like to photograph analogue but, unfortunately, I completely lack the time for development. Currently, I mainly use a Ricoh GR and a Sony Alpha.

What challenges do you face when photographing on the street?

To find the right mood for the respective situation.

Do you ever wonder what happens to the people in your photos?

Absolutely. With some people, photography has resulted in longer contact, with others, unfortunately, not. Though, I hope everyone is doing well so far.

In your opinion, what is the biggest misconception people have about street photography?

It often seems that people think the street photographer is stealing something. However, if you calmly explain what you are doing and show photos, the situation is very quickly clarified.

What are your favourite elements to capture in a street photograph? (light, colour, composition, human interaction, etc.)

At the moment, light and composition, for sure. But that's constantly changing. Depending on what I feel right now.

What is your take on social media influence on street photography?

Curse and blessing. . . Of course, it helps us all to spread our photos. On the other hand, everything will be published in the meantime, whether it is a good photo or not.

Are your prints available for purchase? If so, where can art buyers and collectors contact you to purchase them?

Currently available directly from me! Anytime via email. I am currently working on an online store.
