We would love to know more about you! Who you are and where you're from? When did you start street photography?

I am Zsuzsanna Sárközi. I am a Hungarian and I live in Hungary, the name of the village is Pázmánd. I have been taking photos for quite a few years, I love it, it feels like therapy to create something that is inside me. I believe that beauty is everywhere and I would like to show it to everyone.

What inspired you to become a street photographer?

Challenge, attention, capturing moments that are not easy. For me, it's courage, connecting with people.

How would you describe your work in terms of style and/or approach?

It's variable, a bit moody, I like natural light and shadows. I take photos in a variety of styles. I like black and white photos, but I also have color photos. I think beauty is everywhere, which I try to capture in my own way.

What is your photography routine like? Do you photograph every day?

I take photos often, almost every day.

What camera or mobile device do you use for photography? Do you shoot digitally, on film, or a mix of both?

I take photos with digital cameras. Nikon D5300, Nikon D600, Fujigilm X100V

What challenges do you face when photographing on the street?

Weather, lighting conditions, patience, speed.

Do you ever wonder what happens to the people in your photos?

Yes. Sometimes I play with the idea of where and how he might live, what he might feel, where he might be going.

In your opinion, what is the biggest misconception people have about street photography?

Some people think it's easy.

What are your favourite elements to capture in a street photograph? (light, colour, composition, human interaction, etc.)

Lights, shadows, composition, human interaction-body language.

What is your take on social media influence on street photography?

I think it's both. There are good and bad sides. The good thing is that our work can be shared and we get inspired by it, but the bad thing is that there are so many things going on and there's little uniqueness. Social media gives us both huge opportunities and challenges. Unfortunately, due to "mass production and algorithms", many photos become very similar. I photograph what's inside me, I don't follow trends, but they definitely influence me somewhere. I photograph everything that maybe isn't very lucky, or maybe I haven't found my path yet.

Are your prints available for purchase? If so, where can art buyers and collectors contact you to purchase them?

Yes, they are available for purchase. You can contact me at zsuzsanna.fotok@gmail.com or by sending me a message.

What advice would you give to aspiring photographers?

Have perseverance, have faith, do it with heart and soul, learn constantly and never give up. "You learn nothing from success. You learn everything from failure. Failure is not shameful. We rather hide it and don't talk about it. They don't ask: What did we learn from this? Success is born from hundreds of failures. It doesn't happen quickly. You have to be lame. You have to be laughed at. And they say: "Find a real minka." "This won't work." You have to believe that everything will be better in the end." The road is not easy.

A huge thank you to Zsuzsanna Sárközi for sharing her incredible journey.
